Day 60 Grateful for my Feet

Day 60 of a Grateful Heart... Today I am grateful for Feet. I have honestly never loved the way my feet looked, I have tried to hide them the best I can over the years. The other day, when I fell down the stairs,  I cursed my feet for literally letting me down haha. But as Andrea Whitcomb-May volunteered her time to pamper me once again, I realized I am way too hard on my feet. I think we all are. That's why it is so important to take care of them... that is why it is it even more important to think about others' feet and what they are walking through.

When I laid at the bottom of the stairs, after the initial pain wore off,  instead of being upset, I decided to be thankful for my feet and my body that God has provided me. It has been good to me, whether I have been good to it or not. I have been blessed with good health, and I don't ever want to take that for granted. At school, on Friday the staff wore gray and pink to offer support to a little girl named Vivian who has brain cancer. She is 8 years old. My daughter, Ashlynn is 8 years old. My heart breaks for this family. I think about Vivian's feet, this very difficult road she is walking. I saw Vivian in the cafeteria, a beautiful child that is facing something most 8 year old girls could not fathom.. and her face brightened the room. I smiled and my eyes filled with tears simultaneously. I thanked God for this little girl and her bravery. I prayed for her to beat this and keep on smiling.

I went home and hugged my 8 year old daughter a little tighter. I also showed her my beautifully manicured feet. I chose a beautiful shade of blue called  "Stunning". That is exactly how I would describe Andrea. When I leave her, I feel stunning too, she has the gift of helping others feel renewed, refreshed, ready to take on the day! After my week, she was exactly who I needed to see.

My feet failed me Thursday morning as I fell down the stairs, but WOW.. after almost 40 years, I have learned I need to be grateful for them, corns and all haha. Back when I made time, I loved to run. These feet have been so good to me as I continue to run the race of life, through the valleys and on the way up the mountain.

Andrea, Certified Master Pedicurist at Andrea's Foot Care and Nails, will be giving a free presentation at the Arnett Public Library on Tuesday May 14 at 5:00. Go meet this lady, one I truly believe is an angel on earth. "Your feet do a lot for you. Come do something nice for them." Today I am grateful for my beautiful "stunning" toes, where they have taken me and the journey they will continue to take me in the future. Today I choose to rest them haha. Have a great weekend!

Love,
Lisa Ray
